Jackie + Derrick

I drove out past Gatineau on a particularly hazy evening at the end of July to meet up with J + D. They really wanted their engagement session to be where they plan to get married next year - on Derrick's family farm.

When I pulled up to the farm, I was in utter shock!! (did you get the joke?) I grew up in a teeny tiny farm town and have seen all types of farms. Run down ones, and immaculately clean farms. This farm however... this farm was a totally new experience for me. Everywhere you looked, there were rolling hills being gently graced by sunset. Crop fields danced in the subtle wind, and a river glistened deep in the valley of Derrick's family's property. I mean, this farm felt right out of a movie.

We took the side-by-side all around the property, finding even more beautiful spots than the last. We spotted deer and turkeys from afar, and were greeted by all the farm animals upon our return. The wildflowers really did do their thing by adding the perfect touch to tie in J + D's engagement session.

It was such a pleasure making the trip out to the farm, and it makes me so giddy knowing I get to come back and document their wedding next year :)
