Laura + Daven - Adirondack Elopement

If you know me, you know I'm ALL about elopements. There is nothing more perfect than getting to do exactly what you want to do for your nuptials! Seriously. There isn’t anyone you have to cater to, you get to have all the focus on just you two, and a million opportunities for endless photo ideas because there is no timeline or people you have to rush back to and see. I could quite literally list a thousand reasons why eloping is the way to go, but for now, lets rave about how beautiful Laura + Daven’s elopement was!

I have never been to Lake Placid so this was truly a treat! I even got to bring my mom along on this short but fun trip which was so nice. The morning of the elopement looked really sketchy with high winds, and dark skies. I was really pushing for golden hour, but eventually accepted we would likely run into miserable weather and we would just have to deal with it.

— WELL! It’s almost like mama nature knew there was a special moment about to be had because she cleared up to a perfectly sun/fog afternoon which was absolutely stunning for photos. I met Laura, Daven, and Pam (the loveliest officiant I have ever met) at the trail head, and soon we were off to summit Mt Jo. A workout indeed, but the trek up was 1000% worth it. I have DREAMED of seeing the Adirondack Mountains, let alone shoot an elopement there. I definitely didn’t anticipate the mountains to be as large as they were, so that was an exciting surprise to say the least! It was just the fix I needed for mountain views to tie me over before I head out to Montana this late summer to come.

This elopement was so simple yet so stunning and I am so happy I was able to be a part of Laura + Daven’s exciting day — congrats you two!
